    The calculator uses energy balance and fat loss formulas:

    Fat Loss = Current Weight โ€“ Target Weight
    
    Total Calorie Deficit:
    - Metric: Fat Loss (kg) ร— 7700 kcal
    - Imperial: Fat Loss (lb) ร— 3500 kcal
    
    Duration (days) = Weeks ร— 7 or Months ร— 30
    
    Daily Deficit = Total Deficit รท Days
    
    Target Intake = Daily Calorie Burn (BMR) โ€“ Daily Deficit
        

    Note: If you leave the BMR field blank, the tool uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation:

    BMR = (10 ร— weight in kg) + (6.25 ร— height in cm) โ€“ (5 ร— age) + s
    Where s = +5 for males, โ€“161 for females
    Then: BMR ร— Activity Level Multiplier

    Imagine you weigh 80 kg and want to reach 70 kg in 8 weeks.

    • Total Deficit = 10 ร— 7700 = 77,000 kcal
    • Duration = 8 ร— 7 = 56 days
    • Daily Deficit = 77,000 รท 56 = 1,375 kcal/day
    • If BMR = 2200 kcal โ†’ Target intake = 2200 โ€“ 1375 = 825 kcal/day
